Exchanges

Hello, JIC you haven't heard, we have Three exchanges... The Surprise Exchange and the Doily Exchanges.  If you have any questions or would like to sign up please contact the Coordinator. Remember, you must first be a member of the Tablecloth Hooker's.

Note: If you like, email the Main List when you receive your puffy and let the members know what you received. Make sure your partner and coordinator know you received. Keep a record of your exchange transactions.

~Please put THSX, THDX  or THSDX in the subject line of your emails~

Frequently Asked Questions

I love to exchange puffy's with my partners, but sometimes I'm just too busy to participate, what do I do?  This exchange is to have fun. Feel free to go to the groups database and put "ON HOLD" next to your name in the PHONEBOOK Folder, contact your coord and let them know... If you decide that you want to leave the group, let your coord know so your name can be removed from the database.
How do I know who my partner is? A notice will be sent to the THSX when partners are assigned. You'll get your partners name then. Go to the Phonebook folder in the groups database and get the address where to send.
What kind of items am I required to send to my Partner?  Keep your puffy's small.. here's a few items for example but I'm sure you can think of many more.. a potholder, dishcloth, small doily (I suggest no bigger then 7"), thread coaster, 2-4 ply cotton coasters, bookmark, scrubby pad, towel topper, placemat, small tote, jewelry, fridgies, scrunchies, case (hooks, cosmetics, eyeglasses) just to name a few.
When do I send my partner a "Puffy?"  This is a 2-month exchange and each "round" will start on the 1st of every other month. You will have about 6 weeks to make and send the puffy so that it is received by your partner before the end of the round.
Who is my Coordinator?  Donna Melton
Where do I send my JIC? You'll send your "Just-in-Case" puffy to your coordinator. This must be received before you are assigned a partner.
Why do we have to send a "JIC" puffy?  This is your insurance. Sometimes things in our lives happen that are beyond our control. If for some reason you were unable to meet your obligation to the exchange, the Coordinator will send your JIC (or "Back-up") for you. This way, your obligation is fulfilled and your partner isn't left "out in the cold". :o) You will need to replace the JIC before you can continue in the exchange and be assigned another partner.

What do I use to make my doily?  You should use crochet thread in any size you wish, however it is preferred that the thread is No Larger than size #10, also known as bedspread weight. Feel free to use any pattern you like - or design one, if you wish! :o)
How do I know who my partner is? A notice will be sent to the THDX when partners are assigned. You'll get your partners name then. Go to the Phonebook folder in the groups database and get the address where to send.
What kind of items am I required to send to my partner?  All you are Required to send is a Doily that is At Least 10" across. For oval doilies, add the length and width, then divide by 2 - if the resulting # is 10 or more, then the doily will meet this requirement! :o) Feel free to add other small items like free pattern sheets from Wal-Mart, candies, tea bags, a personal note, etc.
